RIOSUCIO CALDAS

Riosucio is a municipality located in the western high of Caldas.
The limits are: to the nort: Jardin Antioquia, South: with Quinchia, west with Mistrato and on the east with Supia.
Riosucio is a municipality that was founded in 1819 by priests: Jose Bonifacio Bonafont and Jose Ramon Bueno.
At first, there were only about two villages each one with its respetive, parish Quiebralomo and La Montaña, in 1847, priest decided to end this division between the two parishes and decided to call it Riosucio, therefore, both populations inaugurated a unification's carnival of the two villages. From there the meeting is held every two years earliermind called "Devil's carnival" and in October 2006 it was declared intangible heritage in Colombia.
Between its historic sities we have:
  • San Sebastian's Temple
  • Temple Candelaria's Lady 
  • Park of the Pola 
  • Park of San Sebastian 
  • Theater Cuesta
Riosucio is a village known for its great cultural diversity among these: Ingruma's Dances by Julian Bueno Rodriguez and funded on January 6, 1969 and its Carnival.
The majestic typical drinks is the "Guarapo" also known asChicha, demonized water, indigenous champagne those Riosucio ethnically demarcated in four groups are: La montaña, San Lorenzo, Bonafont and Loma Prieta.
